Developer Role and Objectives
The primary role of an IS developer is to play a key role in developing and maintaining applications that our company uses internally and externally. Responsibilities include participating in all phases of the software development process, providing support for new and existing applications, and designing, developing, and debugging new applications. Candidate should be proficient in all necessary technologies to facilitate start-to-finish development, for example, database design/development, data access technologies, programming platform(s)/language(s), and UI development. Candidate should also demonstrate an eagerness and capacity for multi-tasking, proactive problem solving, and accepting unique and challenging assignments.
In this role, an IS Developer will:
Take ultimate responsibility for applications and will fully support end users
Actively participate within a small team in requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and maintenance of new and existing applications
Help maintain existing systems by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and enhancement
Work closely and effectively with other developers, internal clients, and internal management to ensure application needs are consistently being met
Have an ability to accurately estimate effort required, implications, and offer detailed insight into the processes involved in a particular specification
Constantly stay abreast of new technologies to recommend innovative solutions and enhancements to new or existing applications
Requirements
This is a full-time salary position (40 hours/week), Monday through Friday offering full benefits and paid vacation. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field is required.
Minimum of 2+ year’s intense professional experience with ASP.NET 2.0/3.0/3.5, C# via Visual Studio 2k8.
Sql Server 2005/2008 experience a must.
JavaScript, HTML, CSS experience a must.
Strong work experience with object-oriented programming techniques
Ability to perform independently as well as in a team environment.
Must be self-motivated and able to stay current with technology.
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Flash Development experience a plus
Silverlight Development experience a plus
AJAX/jQuery experience a plus
Extensive Transact-SQL/DB Tuning experience a plus
